Woman Killed In Turnpike Crash In Palm Beach Gardens
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.— A 53-year-old woman from West Palm Beach was killed after she was hit by a car on the Turnpike, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said.
The crash happened on the southbound lanes, just south of the PGA Boulevard exit just before midnight.
A sports utility vehicle — driven by a 34-year-old man — was heading south on the Turnpike when he hit the woman, who was standing behind a pickup truck stopped on the outside shoulder of the road, according to FHP. She had been a passenger in the pickup truck.
After hitting the woman, the sports utility vehicle slammed into the back of the pickup truck, the FHP said. The woman was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where she later died. The 53-year-old driver of the pickup truck was seriously injured, while the driver of the sports utility vehicle suffered critical injuries.
This case is pending investigation.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving. “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles.
