The white truck jumped the curb and struck a storefront in Lakewood Park between and Port Pierce in St. Lucie County, Florida Highway Patrol and other witnesses said.

“I was standing here in front and the delivery truck hit one car and he wanted the taxi to move and he tried to turn around it,” said a 56-year old store clerk.

“But instead of making a slow turn, he hit the gas and came over the curb, right into my store. I jumped out of the way. God saved me, it was so close,” the store clerk said.

The driver of the truck remained on the scene.

Two people were taken to the St. Lucie County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It was not immediately clear what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The investigation are still ongoing.
