Car Crash Near Congress Ave Injures One
A serious crash involving several vehicles on 10th Avenue and Congress Avenue has shut down commuting traffic in Palm Springs.
The wreckage was so severe that it left an engine and mangled metals in the middle of the road. The driver of one of the vehicles had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency personnel using extricating tools. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital but his condition was not released.
Palm Springs Police on scene say a couple of children were involved in the crash. The children suffered various degrees of injuries –ranging from major to minor – and have been taken to St. Mary’s Hospital.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and are working to clean up the mess. According to some witnesses, a vehicle crashed into several parked vehicles causing a loud bang that woke some residents up.
10th Avenue North from Congress Avenue to around Rudolph Road will remain closed until authorities are able to clear the scene.
Please drive with caution and stay safe.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Whenever you are behind the wheel of a car, please make sure you are not being distracted by texting, talking on your phone or communicating with your passengers. If you are in an accident where someone didn’t follow the posted signs or signals, please call me so that we can discuss your rights.”
