Collision with train leaves driver dead in Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH, FL – A 27-year-old man was killed on Monday after his truck was struck by a Brightline train, CBS 12 reports. 

The collision occurred near the intersection of North Dixie Highway and Sixth Street around 5:30 a.m. on Monday morning.

The victim was attempting to drive around the closed gates when his truck was hit by the train. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later passed away.

No other injuries have been reported.
