Cyclist hit in Boca Raton in apparent road-rage incident

BOCA RATON, FL – A driver in Boca Raton struck a cyclist on Monday in an incident that appears to be motivated by road rage, according to Boca News Now. 

The accident occurred near the intersection of Tradewind Road and Judge Winikoff Road.

Two cyclist were riding on the sidewalk when a 62-year-old man driving a Honda CRV initiated a verbal confrontation. After one of the cyclists gave him the middle finger, he drove onto the sidewalk and struck that cyclist. Police reports indicate that he sped up into the collision.

The driver has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief. The current condition of the cyclist has not been reported.
