Driver arrested after deadly crash on Seven Mile Bridge

MIAMI, FL – A woman was killed in an accident on Seven Mile Bridge caused by a drunk driver on Monday, accoridng to NBC Miami. 

The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of the bridge, spanning between Boot Key and Bahia Honda Key. The victim, an 85-year-old woman, was traveling with her family in a 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan after taking a vacation in the Keys.

A 43-year-old man in a 2015 Maserati Ghibli attempting to pass them but instead struck their vehicle. The elderly woman was killed at the scene. Three others were injured and taken to a hospital in Marathon while a 15-year-old girl was airlifted to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

The Maserati driver was arrested and charged with negligent manslaughter and seven other counts, including driving under the influence and causing serious bodily harm.
