Drunk driver causes wrong-way collision in Martin County

MARTIN COUNTY, FL – A suspected drunk driver was responsible for a wrong-way collision in Martin County last weekend, WPBF reports. 

The incident occurred in the southbound lanes of US 1 near Osprey Street. The suspect was traveling north in the southbound lanes when the struck another vehicle.

The driver of the southbound vehicle was able to take evasive maneuvers that prevented a head-on collision and miraculously survived the crash.

Police subpoenaed blood tests and determined that the wrong-way driver was intoxicated and plan to make a DUI arrest.
