Eric Nylund, 52, Killed In Crash Near West Palm Beach

The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Highway Patrol department is investigating a fatal crash involving a bicyclist and three vehicles. The crash happened just north of Okeechobee Boulevard on Military Trail.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Highway Patrol, Eric Nylund, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Florida Highway Patrol deputies and police officials said Nylund rode his bike into the path of a 2013 Mercedes C350. The driver of that car swerved, but still hit Nylund’s rear tire. Nylund was thrown from the bike.

The driver of a car behind the Mercedes also hit Nylund, according to reports from a local hospital.

The driver of the Mercedes hit a Ford F150 in the process of trying to avoid the bicyclist.

A Florida Highway Patrol official reported all drivers remained on scene.

Anyone with additional information relating to accident is encouraged to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or the nearest police department.
