FHP: 27-year-old Lake Worth Beach Man Killed After Crashing Motorcycle With SUV
PALM SPRINGS — A 27-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash after he failed to yield to an SUV, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
According to the report, the crash occurred just as a 2005 Yamaha V-Star motorcycle, driven by Isiah Colon of Lake Worth Beach, was westbound on 10th Avenue Northwest of Congress Avenue.
The report said the motorcycle failed to yield to a 2010 Nissan Rogue SUV driven by another man that was northbound on Henthorne Drive in Palm Springs.
Colon died at the crash site. The driver of the SUV, also of the Lake Worth Beach area, was not injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Florida Highway Patrol report said Colon was wearing a helmet and the Nissan driver did not wear a safety belt. It said the crash still was under investigation.
Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or any other authority in the county.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this accident. “It is so important to be aware of motorcyclists on the road because of the severity of their injuries in accidents. There was a public service campaign that encouraged drivers to look left, right and left again just to provide added protection to motorcyclists.
