FHP: Woman Killed In Tractor-Trailer Crash Near South Bay
A 34-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle crash in western Palm Beach County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A tractor-trailer hit the woman’s vehicle in the northbound lanes of U.S. 27 near the South Bay Correctional Facility, FHP said in a crash report.
She died at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, where she was flown by Trauma Hawk following the crash, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
According to the crash report, the woman was traveling north and slowed her vehicle to make a left turn when the front end of the tractor-trailer struck her vehicle.
The tractor-trailer driver, a 64-year-old man, did not sustain any injuries, according to FHP.
Authorities did not disclose the names of the two adults.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, FHP said.
