Fiery Palm Beach County Crash Kills 1, Injures 6 Others
A car wreck killed one person and sparked a fire that engulfed three vehicles and cut off a key Palm Beach County commuting artery on one of the busiest travel days of the year.
The fiery crash caused a column of black smoke seen for miles from I-95. Motorists blocked by the wreck got out of their cars to watch teams of firefighters work to extinguish the blaze.
Fire officials said six people were injured in addition to the person killed.
Major traffic tie-ups continued to spill onto surrounding roads as it was reopened, beginning with the northbound I-95 lanes.
Photographs posted by bystanders on social media showed three charred vehicles and a fourth a few feet away with damage.
The wreck happened on a portion of I-95 near where drivers turn on to exit ramps and surface roads. The fire was a few feet from a spot where tourists enter pedestrian and cycling paths.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Be especially careful when entering an intersection with many local business present. If you were involved in an accident due to someone else being distracted, call me for a free consultation so we can discuss your rights and what compensation you may be entitled to.”
