Henrisha Victoria France Donjoe, 21, Killed After Being Struck By Brightline Train

A 21-year-old Pompano woman died when her vehicle was hit in Pompano Beach by a Brightline train, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred at the railroad crossing at Dixie Highway and Northwest Sixth Street, authorities said.

The woman was identified by the Broward Sheriff’s Office as Henrisha Victoria France Donjoe of Pompano Beach.

Authorities said she drove her white 2010 Honda sedan around the lowered gate arms at the track and was hit by a passenger train at high speed, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

She had to be disentangled from the wreckage and was confirmed dead at the scene, authorities said.

Witnesses told BCSO deputies that the train’s horn was sounding loudly, all four crossing gate arms were lowered, the warning bell was ringing and warning lights were flashing, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said.

No rail line in South Florida, or anywhere else, has experienced the number of crashes that Brightline faced in such a short time frame, according to an analysis carried out by the Associated Press.

The incident is still under investigation according to the Broward County Sheriff’s office.

Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving.  “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles.  If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
