Jay Jonas, 27, Killed In Deadly Crash In Boca Raton

A Delray Beach man identified as Jay Jonas, 27, was killed in a deadly crash involving a scooter and Camaro, authorities say.

The collision that led to the death of Jay Jonas happened in the 7500 block of North Dixie Highway.

Police say 27-year-old Jay Jonas of Delray Beach was heading south on North Dixie Highway when his motor scooter was struck by another vehicle on the North Dixie Highway. As he tried to cross the intersection at Hidden Valley Boulevard, the driver of a northbound 2011 Chevrolet Camaro tried to turn west and the pair collided at the center of the intersection of Hidden Valley Boulevard and North Dixie Highway.

The Camaro driver was not injured in the crash. Jay Jonas suffered serious injuries and was transported to Delray Medical Center, according to police. Jay Jonas succumbed to his injuries and died later at the Delray Medical Center.

Boca Raton police are investigating the deadly crash between a scooter and Camaro.
