Man, 18, Dies Following Greenacres Motorcycle Crash
GREENACRES – An 18-year-old Lake Worth-area man died a day after a car struck him as he rode his motorcycle on South Jog Road in Greenacres, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
The impact threw him off his Suzuki bike and onto the pavement causing life-threatening injuries. Paramedics took him to Delray Medical Center, where he died.
He was riding northbound on the 2200 block of Jog Road near Purdy Lane at midnight when the driver of a 2017 Hyundai Sonata made a U-turn on Jog and “violated” his right of way, PBSO said.
The report does not say how fast the vehicles were traveling when they crashed.
PBSO’s crash report said charges are pending against the driver of the Sonata, a 33-year-old man who lives in the Greenacres area. The Palm Beach Post is not naming him because he has not yet been charged with a crime.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this accident. “It is so important to be aware of motorcyclists on the road because of the severity of their injuries in accidents. There was a public service campaign that encouraged drivers to look left, right and left again just to provide added protection to motorcyclists. If you were injured in an accident and want to discuss your rights, please contact my office for a free consolation”.
