Man, 27, Killed In Two-Vehicle Wreck
ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol said a 27-year-old Port St. Lucie man died after a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. 1.
Investigators said a 2017 Toyota Camry, driven by a 48-year-old man of Port St. Lucie, was traveling northbound on US 1 in the left turn lane for Brazilian Circle.
A 2000 Honda Civic, driven by a Port St. Lucie man, 27, was traveling southbound on US 1 in the outside lane approaching Brazilian Circle.
He attempted to make a left turn across the southbound lanes of US 1 and onto Brazilian Circle.
FHP said a collision occurred between the front of the Camry and the left side of the Civic.
The Civic overturned and came to its final rest upside down.
Both drivers were transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, but the 27-year-old man was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital. The other driver sustained serious injuries.
This case is still pending investigation.
