Man, 56, Dies In Tractor-Trailer Crash Near Belle Glade
BELLE GLADE — A 56-year-old man died when his car and a tractor-trailer crashed east of Belle Glade, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
Authorities pronounced a Belle Glade-area resident dead at the scene at the intersection of State Road 80 and Hatton Highway.
A Freightliner truck was northbound on Hatton and started to cross State Road 80 on a flashing red light, PBSO said.
It drove into the path of the victim’s 2017 Chevrolet Impala, PBSO said. The vehicles collided and the Impala became stuck beneath the trailer.
A third vehicle, a Toyota Tacoma SUV, hit the rear of the man’s car.
The driver of the Freightliner, a 39-year-old man of Miami, was not injured, PBSO said. The driver of the Tacoma also was uninjured.
The PBSO crash report does not mention any pending charges in the crash.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving. “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles. If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
