Man Killed In Fatal Crash At The Intersection Of State Road 7 And Lantana Road
A 38-year-old man of West Boca Raton is dead following a car crash at the intersection of State Road 7 and Lantana Rd.
The man was westbound on State Road 7, east of Lantana, in the outside lane. He was traveling at a speed well above the posted 50 mph limit according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
The roadway was wet from a recent rain shower and the tires on his vehicle had low tread depth. He lost control of the vehicle and struck an SUV. The right front of the car impacted with the SUV and rotated in a counter-clockwise direction as it moved in the southwest direction.
The left rear of the car then impacted with a tree. The vehicle came to rest in the center median against the tree.
First emergency responders arrived at the site of the crash soon after the accident happened, and the victim was transported to Delray Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Lantana Rd is partially closed at the moment due to the severity of the crash, causing traffic delays. Vehicles on this route are pulling to the roadside to allow crews to work. It is best to use an alternative route.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Whenever you are behind the wheel of a car, please make sure you are paying attention to all road signs and signals. If you are in an accident where someone didn’t follow the posted signs or signals, please call me so that we can discuss your rights.”
