Man Loses Three Relatives In A Palm Beach Bus Crash
A man is recovering in a Delray Beach Hospital one week after he lost his wife, his mother-in-law and his son in a bus crash while going on an excursion.
The bus was carrying passengers to board a cruise ship when the crash occurred. The crash claimed the lives of 11 cruise ship boarders and passengers and a Palm Beach tour guide when the bus overturned on a two-lane highway. The man spoke to WSVN about this tragic event from his hospital bed, “Why me? Why did I survive and not them?”
The other survivor is a 15-year-old boy. Those killed in the crash were his 11-year-old son, his wife Anna, and her mother. He claims to have heard his son’s voice calling to him after the crash. “That was the very first voice I heard, ‘Dad! Dad! Are you alright?’ ” he made known to WSVN. “I was still lying on the floor looking for my wife, but I never found her.”
He had found his son, but the boy had died in his arms, he reported. Despite his loss, he said those he loves will forever be by his side. “They are always present in my soul, in my mind and in my heart every single moment of my life,” he said.
The bus driver has been taken into custody for questioning. The preliminary findings point to excessive speed and negligence as the cause of the crash, NBC 6 reported.
Accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash. “This is a serious bus accident involving cruise passengers that resulted in the death of many passengers.
