Two Lake County men and a third victim have been critically injured after crashing their motorcycles, Martin County police authorities and the Florida Highway Patrol officials say.

The crash occurred on the 6300 block of Hobe Sound, between Sewall’s point and Palm City roads, the Martin County police authorities said in a news release.

A 31-year-old of Port Salerno and a 20-year-old of Jupiter Island were riding together when the crash happened, Florida Highway Patrol officials said. They were heading westbound on Hobe Sound when they “failed to negotiate a curve in the road, they both had a head-on crash with a tractor trailer,” the news release states.

Both of the victim’s motorcycles crashed off the left side of the road, police said. The 20-year-old was rushed to a nearby hospital by paramedics at the crash scene. The 31-year-old was also taken to a hospital at Delray Medical Center with severe injuries. A teenager in the semi trailer was also hospitalized after the incident.

Martin County police authorities are working with crash reconstruction teams to probe the crash. Officials did not provide a preliminary cause of the incident.

The driver of the truck was not serious injured and is currently being questioned by Martin County police authorities.
