Motorcyle Rider Suffers Severe Injuries After Road Rage

Police are investigating a road rage incident which led to a crash on southbound
State Route A1A. Two vehicles, a grey Kia Sorento and a Toyota Camry, were involved in the incident when one cut in front of the other while in transit.
According to police reports, the driver of the Kia Sorento was in on the left lane of the southbound carriage when he cut ahead of the Toyota Camry. The driver of the Toyota Camry decided to get even by driving up beside the Kia Sorento in an attempt at pass the vehicle. Eyewitnesses say unpleasant words were exchanged during the confrontation.
One of the drivers attempted to sideswipe the other, but ended up crashing into a motorcycle which was attempting to speed through the gap between both vehicles. The motorcycle rider was brought down from his bike and crashed into the ashphalt, sustaining bruises and a fracture in the process.
Both drivers were said to have stopped to assist the motorcycle rider after the accident, until emergency services arrived. Paramedics arrived on the scene and the injured rider was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The two drivers that initiated the accident were detained by the FHP, pending the outcome of their investigations. No charges have been filed so far.
