No Serious Injuries After Rollover Crash On I-95 SB

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 53-year-old Port St. Lucie woman escaped serious injuries after her car overturned on Interstate 95, authorities said.

The woman had minor injuries and declined to go to the hospital, Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Yanko Reyes said. Reyes said troopers suspect the woman might have been driving under the influence of illegal substances.

The crash blocked north and southbound lanes for about an hour and 30 minutes, Reyes said.

This is the second rollover wreck to happen in two days on the interstate. FHP is no longer releasing the names of crash victims because of privacy reasons.

The crash happened near the 150 mile marker. The woman was traveling northbound in a 2005 red Toyota Scion when she lost control of the car, authorities said.

The car veered toward the left and rolled over onto the southbound side, Reyes said. The car briefly blocked the right and center lanes on southbound I-95.

It is unclear if there were other occupants in the vehicle or if there were other vehicles involved in the crash. First responders treated the woman at the scene.

All lanes were reopened a few hours after, Reyes said.  FHP continues to investigate.
