One Dead, Another Injured In Fort Pierce Car Crash

FORT PIERCE — The Police Department was investigating a car crash that left a 32-year-old Fort Pierce woman dead and a teenager injured.

Officials responded to the crash in the 1200 block of Indian River Drive, according to a news release.

A 19-year-old Fort Pierce man driving a Ford F150 truck traveling southbound collided with a Nissan Altima that was heading north. Both drivers, who weren’t named in the report, were taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute in Fort Pierce.

The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead. The cause of the collision is under investigation, police said.

Police officials had no other information.

Indian River Drive was closed for almost six hours between Florida Avenue and Savannah Road.
