One killed, eight injured after truck hits sedan

BROWARD COUNTY, FL – A 15-year-old boy was killed and eight people were injured when a semi-truck struck the back of a sedan, the Miami Herald reports. 

The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of US-27 near the border of Palm Beach and Broward Counties and around 2:45 p.m.

For reasons that are not clear at this time, the truck struck the back of a black Nissan sedan that was carrying nine people.

Everyone in the sedan was rushed to the hospital, where the 15-year-old later died. The truck driver was not hospitalized.
