One Woman Killed And Two Others Injured In Crash Along Jog Road
A woman was killed and two others sustained injuries after a car went off the road along Jog Road in Delray Beach.
Police are investigating a crash which led to the death of a woman from Fort Pierce. The crash which occurred along Jog Road left a vehicle heavily damaged. The 54 year old woman was driving a Volvo Sedan on the northbound lane of Jog Road, Her vehicle veered off the side of the road and struck a tree.
The driver of the Volvo Sedan sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. A front seat passenger in the Volvo, a 38 year old woman, was hospitalized due to head trauma suffered in the crash. A third occupant of the car was in the backseat when the accident occurred. She suffered some fractures and was rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Authorities say the severity of the injuries can be traced to the fact that none of the occupants of the car were wearing seatbelts.
Emergency First responders were on scene. Police Officers were on the scene conducting an investigation into the crash. It is still unconfirmed why the woman lost control of the vehicle. The Florida Highway Patrol Says a crash reconstruction team is helping with the investigation.
Drivers are advised to ensure that all passengers have their seat belts on at all times.
