Palm Beach Gardens Police Officer Saves Victim’s Life In Crash Near Military Trail And Hood Road

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fl — A police officer in Palm Beach Gardens is being honored and recognized as a hero for saving a crash victim’s life.

The crash happened near Military Trail and Hood Road. Callers told police one driver had his arm partially amputated.

Police said Officer David Joy responded to the scene, kept the victim calm and used a tourniquet to help stop the bleeding. The crash victim is in the hospital in critical condition.

City Council, Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue, and the police department presented Joy with the Police Department’s Life Saving Award and Fire Rescue’s Call of the Quarter Award as a result of his actions.
