Pedestrian Sustained Minor Injuries After Being Hit By Vehicle In Broward County
A woman has narrowly avoided serious injury after she was hit on a Wilton Manors pedestrian crossing.
The 52-year-old was crossing the road after work. She said she looked left and saw a car approaching, appearing to slow down to a stop.
The 52-year-old started to cross and reached the center of the road before realizing the driver had not seen her and was not stopping. The car struck her left side.
She knows the incident could have been much worse and she escaped with minor head injuries which had been treated in a local hospital in Martin County.
She wanted to raise awareness of the dangerous crossing, which has been the site of several pedestrian accidents.
She said the crossing should be raised to make pedestrians more visible, especially when the afternoon sun hits drivers in the eyes, which she said happened yesterday.
She said she also had a near miss on the crossing sometime ago, when she had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.
Accident attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to this unfortunate crash. “This is a serious accident resulting in injuries.
