Police: One killed, One Other Hurt After Boynton Beach Crash

BOYNTON BEACH — A man was killed early when the car he was driving struck a tree in front of a home before veering to a nearby street and striking an SUV, Boynton Beach police and the Florida Highway Patrol Department said.

The car was racing down the street when it struck the tree, police and the Florida Highway Patrol Department said.

Glidman Jeune and his passenger, Gerson Chery, both 35 and both of Boynton Beach, were in a Toyota Avalon racing south on Southwest Second Street when it struck the tree in the front yard of a home on the 300 block, police and the Florida Highway Patrol Patrol said in a Twitter post.

The home is two blocks east of Interstate 95 and three blocks south of Boynton Beach Boulevard.

The two men were taken as trauma patients to Delray Medical Center, where Jeune died, police said. The posting did not give a condition for Chery, but he was later on transferred to a hospital in the county.

Anyone who saw the crash and who has additional information concerning what may have triggered the car crash is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol Department or the traffic homicide investigators.

Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash.  “Be especially careful when entering an intersection with many local business present. If you were involved in an accident due to someone else being distracted, call me for a free consultation so we can discuss your rights and what compensation you may be entitled to.”
