Common Reasons for Motorcycle Accidents
Motorcycle accidents can occur due to a number of unfortunate factors. Like other accidents, motorcycle accidents can happen because of driver error (such as distracted driving). The other common reasons for these types of accidents include the following:
- Drunk Driving: Inebriated driving is a dangerous and unlawful act that can pose a catastrophic danger to others on the road. Those who drive while drunk should be punished for the poor judgment they made before getting behind the wheel of a vehicle.
- Damage in Road: Road damage such as an unpaved or improperly paved road, potholes, cracks in the cement, or a sinkhole pose great risks to drivers. Especially when driving a motorcycle, it can be difficult to avoid these types of road hazards, and this is why they are common causes of motorcycle crashes.
- Speeding: Driving above the posted speed limit can cause a motorcycle to easily go out of control. Speeding reduces a driver’s ability to function at their best and can lead to collisions.
- Auto Defect: Auto defects such as those affecting the steering system, airbags, or engine are commonly found to be responsible for many motorcycle accidents.
You should not be held responsible for the financial burdens following an accident caused by a negligent party. At Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller & Overbeck P.A., our motorcycle accident lawyers want to help you find the compensation and peace of mind you need after an accident.
