St. Lucie County Elementary School Teacher Dies In Crash

A physical education teacher has died in a two-vehicle car crash when she lost control in icy conditions and crashed into a truck in Coconut Creek, Broward County Florida Highway Patrol officials said.

The 28-year-old had been teaching at an elementary school in Broward County for a very long time, according to the post.

According to her friends, she was indeed a much-beloved teacher and will be greatly missed,” one of her friends said in the statement. “Her warmth, love, and care for others was reflected in her radiant and perpetual smile.”

She was married to a deputy with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department, the post reports.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Department says she was driving on Coconut Creek when her 2008 Hyundai Accent began to slide on the icy roadway, before colliding with a truck on the opposite lane.

Her vehicle went off the side of the road and then into an icy road, before it struck the truck, it then overturned and ended up hitting a utility pole.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt.

The truck driver and a 17-year-old female passenger were severely injured, and were taken to the Delray Medical Center in Palm Beach County.

No charges have been filed yet, as alcohol or drug had nothing to do with the crash.

The crash remains under investigation, police reports say.

Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash.  “Be especially careful when entering an intersection with many local business present.  If you were involved in an accident due to someone else being distracted, call me for a free consultation so we can discuss your rights and what compensation you may be entitled to.”
