Teen on dirt bike dies during attempted traffic stop in Boynton Beach

BOYNTON BEACH, FL – A 13-year-old boy was killed on Sunday while riding a dirt bike in Boynton Beach, NBC News reports. 

Police report that the victim was driving recklessly on the dirt bike when they attempted to pull him over. He then crashed in the 800 block of North Federal Highway and suffered injuries that proved fatal.

The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are not clear at this time. The Florida Highway Patrol is leading an investigation into the incident.

The officer involved in the traffic stop has been placed on administrative leave.
