Three Injured In High Speed Motorcycle Crash On West Hillsboro Boulevard

Three riders sustained injuries in a high speed motorcycle crash along West Hillsboro Boulevard in Deerfield Beach.

The west bound lanes of West Hillsboro Boulevard were littered with debris after a high speed motorcycle crash involving two motorcycles and a truck in Deerfield Beach. Officers of the Florida Highway Patrol were called to the accident which sent three peopls to the hospital with serious injuries.

A 27-year-old motorcyclist suffered a concussion and was rushed to the ER due to the severity of his injuries.

According to police reports, a Ford truck was traveling on the westbound lane of W. Hillsboro Boulevard when a group of motorcycles approached his vehicle from both sides in an attempt to squeeze through the gap between the truck and a car in the left lane.

The driver of the Ford truck got distracted and swerved to avoid hitting one of the motorcycles. He swerved and struck a motorcycle on his left, which lost its balance and fell on its side. The downed motorcycle glided into the path of a second motorcycle behind him. The rider lost control and crashed into the asphalt as it skidded on the road.

The rider of the second motorcycle sustained serious injuries in the crash. He had multiple fractures including a broken neck. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition. A backseat passenger on the second motorcycle also sustained injuries in the crash and was rushed to the hospital.

The driver of the Ford truck was not hurt in the crash.

No charges have been filed yet. Officers of the FHP are handling the investigation into the crash.
