Three-Vehicle Car Wreck In Royal Palm Beach Left Five People Critical
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Highway Patrol Department said, a 22-year-old man was critically injured in a two-vehicle wreck in Royal Palm Beach.
The crash occurred on westbound Okeechobee Boulevard near Wildcat Way when a 1994 Honda Civic hit a median then crash into a 2013 Honda Odyssey.
The Civic, driven by a 35-year-old man, was traveling westbound on Okeechobee Boulevard when it lost control while trying to negotiate a left curve and veered in the Honda Odyssey.
The car was speeding and the driver had over-corrected causing the Civic to rotate and move toward the center median.
The Civic entered the center median and smashed into an Odyssey driven by a 52-year-old Port Salerno man, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The 22-year-old man, a Royal Palm Beach resident, was airlifted to a nearby hospital by paramedics at the scene, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and Florida Highway Patrol.
Humphrey and three other of his passengers are currently in the Palm Beach County General Hospital. Florida Highway Patrol said, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Palm Beach Sheriff Office said, the driver’s airbag and seat belt had been removed from the vehicle before the crash.
No charges have been filed yet, as investigations are still ongoing. FHP said.
