Twin Infants Hospitalized After Suspect Crashes Car
Nine-month-old twins were sent to the hospital after a vehicle crash at a Lake Worth intersection, authorities say. The man is facing charges after Palm Beach Sheriff’s deputies arrested him after he fled police before crashing his car.
Deputies arrested a 29-year-old man after he allegedly robbed a CVS and attempted to hit a clerk with his car. According to deputies, the driver fled the scene in an attempt to get away and crashed at the intersection of Brentwood Boulevard and Lantana Road. There were twin infants in the car with him as well as a woman.
There are pending charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, eluding police, larceny and two counts of child cruelty.
An official statement issued by PBSO stated that, “The suspect allegedly committed a theft at a CVS and tried to hit the clerk with his car as he was fleeing the scene, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies issued search for the suspect’s vehicle, and a deputy attempted to stop the vehicle when he spotted it. The vehicle fled from the deputy and ended up crashing at the intersection of Brentwood Boulevard and Lantana Road. He ran from the vehicle, leaving behind a woman and the nine-month-old twin infants in the car.”
First emergency responders arrived shortly after the crash and the infants were taken to the hospital for treatment, PBSO said. Deputies were able to capture the suspect, deputies added.
