Two Dead In High-speed Porsche Crash

A 25-year-old is charged with vehicular manslaughter, reckless driving causing serious bodily injury, and driving without a license in a car crash that killed a man, 29, and another man, 47 in Greenacres.

The two men, who both lived in suburban West Palm Beach, worked for a moving and storage company. The men’s families sat silently in the front row of the courtroom listening to the hearing.

The 25-year-old had sped through a stop sign near the intersection of Second Street and Swain Boulevard in his silver Porsche without any headlights on, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office investigators. Video from surveillance cameras captured the luxury vehicle violently crashing into a Honda CRV, throwing at least one person from that vehicle. Besides the two men who died, three other people in the CRV were severely injured, according to authorities.

The 25-year-old, along with his three other passengers, remained at the crash scene and the driver was later apprehended.

Deputies said that before the crash, they attempted to pull the driver over because he was speeding and driving without his headlights on near 10th Avenue North, not far from the crash scene.

Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash.  “Whenever you are behind the wheel of a car, please make sure you are not being distracted by texting, talking on your phone or communicating with your passengers.  If you are in an accident where someone didn’t follow the posted signs or signals, please call me so that we can discuss your rights.”
