Two Girls Killed, Five Others Injured After A Teen Crashed A Stolen Car In Broward
Two girls have been confirmed dead and five other minors sustained injuries in a car crash in Pompano Beach, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
13-year-old Anacshua Johnson was confirmed dead at the scene, while 12-year-old Chayanna Nesmith had died at Broward Health Medical Center, according to deputies. Both resided in Pompano Beach.
Deputies disclosed that a 14-year-old boy was seen driving a 2007 Toyota with six other minors inside the car when he had lost control on the 1200 block of Northwest 15th Street.
The car then swerved off the road, struck a palm tree and the metal pole of the crossing arms on the railroad tracks. The car overturned landing upside down on the railway tracks, according to the office of the sheriff.
Investigators reported that the car was stolen from Coconut Creek.
The other five teens, ranging from ages of 12 to 14, were taken to Broward Healthcare with with various degrees of injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies are still carrying out an investigation. The Sheriff’s Office sends its condolences to the families of the two deceased victims who were involved in the car crash.
