Two People Killed In Red Light Crash In Fort Pierce
A 27-year-old driver ran a red light near Fort Pierce and killed two people, according to police and court records.
The crash happened at the intersection of Oleander Ave and Sunrise Blvd. Two men were killed in the incident. The driver was driving north on Oleander Avenue in a white 2020 Nissan Frontier SUV when he ran a red light and struck the passenger side of a Ford heading east on Sunrise Blvd, Fort Pierce police said.
The Ford driver, 21, and his friend who was a passenger in the vehicle died at the scene. Both are from the Linton Blvd area, police said.
The driver who was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition remained hospitalized.
Police said they continue to investigate but said alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded to distracted driving. “In my many years as a Personal Injury Lawyer I’ve helped many victims that were injured because someone was distracted and crashed into their vehicles. If you’ve been injured by someone because they weren’t paying attention to the road, please call me so I can help you get compensation for your damages.”
