Vero Beach Man Dies In Motorcycle Crash At Indian River County Intersection
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A Vero Beach man died after his motorcycle collided with a trailer hauled by a vehicle through an intersection, according to highway officials.
The 78-year-old was taken to Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital where he died from his injuries in the crash at 66th Avenue and 69th Street, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
According to the report, he was traveling west on 69th Street and failed to completely stop his motorcycle at a stop sign at the intersection on 66th Avenue.
His motorcycle struck a trailer hauled by a 56-year-old Fellsmere man as it passed the intersection travelling north on 66th Avenue.
State troopers are still investigating the crash. They noted on the report that the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The identities of the men involved and the make and model of their vehicles were not provided.
