West Palm Man Dies As Driver Of Car Crashes Into Tree
A male police suspect was driving under the influence when he crashed into a tree in suburban West Palm Beach, killing a man who was riding with him, investigators say.
The driver, 39, of West Palm Beach, was driving south on Congress Avenue, approaching Gun Club Road, when he lost control of the 2010 Nissan Maxima he was steering, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
As he attempted to turn left onto Gun Club Road, the car skidded southeast and crashed into a tree wrapping around it.
The impact killed a passenger, 37, of West Palm Beach.
Sheriff’s deputies believe alcohol or drugs were involved. Charges against the driver are pending, the department said. His injuries were reportedly minor.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “Be especially careful when entering an intersection with many local business present. If you were involved in an accident due to someone else being distracted, call me for a free consultation so we can discuss your rights and what compensation you may be entitled to.”
