Woman, baby critically injured after getting struck by hit-and-run driver in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – A hit-and-run driver struck a woman and her five-month-old baby on Caribbean Boulevard Friday. 

The collision occurred before 9:45 p.m., The Boca Post reported. The hit-and-run driver did not see the woman and her baby and hit them. Both were thrown to the right shoulder. 

The driver was found and identified as Daniel Pierre Elie. 

Elie will face charges. 

It is unclear if alcohol and impairment were contributing factors in the collision. 

The woman and the baby were treated on scene and hospitalized at St. Mary’s Medical Center for critical, life-threatening injuries. Their current condition is unknown.
