“A woman was killed in Port St. Lucie when a truck struck and injured the victim. The driver had a green light and was heading eastbound on SW Gatlin Blvd in a truck,” authorities report.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, and her teenage daughter walked in the area of SW Gatlin Boulevard when the crash happened.
The victim’s daughter suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized.
Police said the duo was taken to a hospital by emergency responders. Speed may have played a factor in the crash, police said.
Attorney Jason Weisser of Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller and Overbeck responded about the crash. “A Hit-and-run is one of the worst type of accidents. When that person that fled the scene is caught you have rights that are different then in a regular car crash. Make sure you speak to a licensed professional about your rights”.
