Pedestrian killed in Hallandale Beach

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – One person was killed and another was injured when a hit-and-run driver struck two people in Hallandale Beach, Local 10 News reports. 

The accident occurred along southbound I-95 near Hallandale Beach Boulevard. The victims were in a box truck that ran out of gas around 3 a.m. They walked down to a nearby gas station and, on thier way back, two of them were struck by a dark-colored sedan.

A 34-year-old man was killed at the scene. The other victim, a 43-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.

Police are currently searching for the driver, who fled the scene.
